Recommended Reading

Greetings All! A few months ago Sir J. Kwest highly recommended Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist as a must read text. In the spirit of literacy and in my quest to end aliteracy (the ability/refusal to read), I am recommending two other books for that list. The first is Stormie Omartian's book The Power of a Praying Husband. Now, she wrote the book for married men who want to improve their relationships with God and their wives, but I have found quite helpful as young brother on the verge of marriage. Essentially, it is about the complexity and multidimensionality of women and how men, through their relationship with God and pray, can better support their women. She also has a "companion" book for wives and a book for single women. I learned an enormous amount from the book and I think it can provide some clarity for any married man or man considering marriage.
The second book I am recommending is The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis. This book is satirical in its approach, but it is rich in thought provoking religious and socio-cultural commentary. I have not finished the book yet, so I don't have a full review or anything, but I wanted to at least say that its dope and I think its a good read (thus far at least). Stay tuned! I will be back with more recommendations. LovLiv!
