Exclusives acometh
Well, I have been talking about opening the floodgates for a long time. One of the major advantages of working with artists with the work ethics of a J.Kwest and a Breeveazie is that they both have very large catalogs of unreleased music. With Are & Be alone, their were close to 40 songs recorded and many fights to sequence that project. One thing that J always messes with me about is that I always voluntarily place songs in the vaults never with the expectation of them ever being heard by anyone outside of our circle. Their is a certain level of quality control that we all subscribe to as we all are perfectionists. However, the level of song making and rappety rappety rap that these dudes have in the name of God is unparalleled.
With that said, I have decided to throw a Pure Music curve ball and release something a little different than what was expected by everyone and is sort of a representation of how I feel right now. This particular joint was recorded in early 2007 and look forward to comments related to this one. Check back really really soon for some unreleased Are & Be treats!

OMGoodness...where do I start?!?!
Thank you, J, for making this song!!! And thanks 2wo for releasing it [now].
I can see why it was not included on Are & Be and, perhaps oddly, I want to thank you all for not placing it on there as well.
I say that because, though I whole-heartedly agree with your stances on the topics/folks you address in the song, it's never wise to entangle those you are trying to lead to Christ with junk others are trying to destroy you with (it usually harms you and those you are leading in the end). "Gospel beef" is clearly, clearly not the move and only plays those who participate in its' game. But, it is still essential as an artist and leader of any kind of ministry to get these thoughts and emotions out somehow as well, hence the reason I'm glad you made it AND glad you did not put it out.
I would have loved to have been there when this joint was up for discussion (I can only imagine the conversation in the room! lol) but, from what I can tell of the finished product (Are & Be), it looks like wisdom prevailed.
I look forward to hearing more unreleased stuff in the days to come.
PEACE!!!
Oh, and sorry for deleting that first comment (it was the same as the second)...I can't stand not correcting typos!
So what I want released for the world to hear is that joint with Simone, lol! Oh the stories and memories, smh... That feels like forever ago...
But with all of these un-released joints, could you just release another album???? Something!! The world needs more of this movement like ASAP. Please and thanks, lol
This particular joint was actually post Are&Be. As for Betcha Didn't Know ft. Simone, that probably never be unearthed from round these parts'
Batman and Batman is on the way and Grant can vouch for how serious the material is for that joint. Stay tuned. A lot in 09. Its Do Or Die like AK47 and Belo round here.
yea, those Are and Be track list session's where brutal...and 09 is about to be crazy...I'm super excited as YOU should be...
this is RIGHT AFTER Are&Be in an era called "Clean Slate" I was in. Getting ready to write the album, you gotta release frustration or whatever may get in the way of the process. That's why it's on no project, although as I listen again it is VERY DOPE
Also, 2wo should have mentioned that this is a RESPONSE to "Truth about Hip Hop" by G.Craig Lewis. I think that's the stud's name. I first learned about it in '06. Soon as I saw it, wrote this song.
Wow, ok, that makes a little more sense. I remember when I first heard Clean Slate I though, "dang, this dude sounds mad" but I just let it ride.
