Sacrifice: All sports (unless I'm physically playing them), and CORN SYRUP (which is pretty much everything) along with Fried Food
Addition: Prayer, Exercise, and Bass Guitar EVERY DAY (no matter what)

I am giving up all junk food, sugared pop, desserts of all kinds, and carbs. Yes, carbs. I loves me some carbs.
Yeah...I'm giving up cheese. This is tough since I think cheese is supposed to go on everything. Cheese eggs, cheese in your grits, cheeseburger, tacos, cheese on my spaghetti and chili, cheese & crackers, pizza, macaroni & cheese, cheesecake...do you want me to keep going? Therefore, in giving up cheese, I'm also not eating a lot of other foods that I don't think I taste good without cheese. LOL. I haven't done Lent in years, but if I can go without cheese for 46 days...I can do ANYTHING!!! :-)

Sacrifice: social media (facebook, twitter, gchat, ichat)
addition(s): prayer (specifically worshiping god via singing), exercise, at least 30 minutes of silence each day, at least on the weekends a have to work on my comic book

Sacrifice: Cursing - I will donate 10 dollars to Haiti for ever curse word I think, type, write, or say - I be cursing ppl out in my head at work...Haiti might have a whole new infrastructure if work doesn't go quite right!
Junk Food - I'm giving up sweets, fried foods, unnatural fruit juice, pop. (I love food,especially dessert and anything involving sugar or potato chips!!!)
Drinking - everything except the occasional glass of wine...for real...occasional!
Addition: Prayer 3 times per day, Yoga EVERY morning, Reading daily devotion "Pursuit of His Presence" every day.
I seriously need prayer...the first day was a struggle. Love you all, and I'm praying for you all.

I'm giving up fried foods and red meat...no more Harolds or Uncle Remus for me.
Addition: Do some writing every day not related to work..going to buy a journal today.
Will also be looking for a new church during the Lenten season

Sacrifice: The Daniel Diet - no dairy, meat (except I'm doing fish only), no fried foods, liquor, preservatives... I'm basically eating fruits, veggies, oats, nuts, and whole grains.
Addition: Daily morning exercise and devotion before work, more consistent prayer life and bible study.
This is going to be a loooong 40 days!
Alright, here we go.
For lent this year, I'm giving up Facebook and Twitter for everyday except Saturday (even deleted them from my phone!). I don't write on them a ton but I'm on them ALL THE TIME...for no reason most times. I do, however love to share links to news, music, videos, etc. so not getting to do so is already tough (and this is just the first day!). Plus, I'm only allowing an hour on Sat.
What am I picking up. Writing. I love writing and have made a commitment to becoming better, but have done little about it. So, I'll be writing something (even if it's only a couple of lines) everyday during lent.

Adding ice cream to my sacrifices list...didn't know it was possible to have impure thoughts about ice cream until I had them yesterday...
i thought about giving myself a break on the weekends with my social media fast. then i realized...NO!!!! hardcore for the rest of the time! keep me in prayer about it tho. this kind of stuff is a big challenge for me to maintain.
